This dual mode printer incorporates both color dye-diffusion and grayscale direct thermal technology in one printer. The NP-1660 supports a variety of media types and sizes including Codonics' exclusive grayscale DirectVistaTM media and color ChromaVistaTM media. The NP-1660 advanced queuing feature separates incoming print requests into separate queues, one for each media size and type, and holds jobs until the proper media is loaded into the printer. This allows the user to change cassettes at his or her convenience. The printer accepts many industry standard file formats and includes built-in image processing and spooling capabilities.
